कि दुनिया में कम से कम 2 करोड़,90 लाख महिलाएं
आधुनिक दासता की शिकार हैं. यह जबरन श्रम, जबरदस्ती विवाह, बंधुआ मजदूरी और घरेलू दासता आदि के रूप में मौजूद
है. दासता के खिलाफ काम करने वाले संगठन ‘वॉक फ्री’ की सह संस्थापक ग्रेस फ्रोरेस
ने शुक्रवार को कहा कि इसका मतलब है कि 130 महिलाओं और लड़कियों में से एक आधुनिक दासता की शिकार है और संख्या
ऑस्ट्रेलिया की कुल आबादी से अधिक है.
उन्होंने संयुक्त राष्ट्र के एक
संवाददाता सम्मेलन में कहा, हकीकत यह है कि जितने लोग दासता में आज के वक्त में
जी रहें हैं उतने मानव इतिहास में कभी नहीं रहे. उन्होंने कहा कि वॉक फ्री आधुनिक
दासता की व्याख्या, एक व्यक्ति की स्वतंत्रता को चरणबद्ध तरीके से समाप्त
करना, जहां एक व्यक्ति दूसरे व्यक्ति का व्यक्तिगत अथवा
आर्थिक लाभ के लिए शोषण करता हो’ के तौर पर करता है. उन्होंने कहा कि वॉक फ्री और
संयुक्त राष्ट्र की एजेंसियों-अंतरराष्ट्रीय श्रम संगठन तथा इंटरनेशनल ऑर्गनाइजेशन
फॉर माइग्रेशन द्वारा किए गए कार्यों (सर्वे) से यह निष्कर्ष निकला है कि 130 महिलाओं और लड़कियों में से एक आधुनिक दासता की शिकार
है.
स्टैग्ड ऑड्स की रिपोर्ट में कहा
गया है कि यौन उत्पीड़न के सभी पीड़ितों में 99 प्रतिशत महिलाएं हैं, जबरदस्ती
विवाह के सभी पीड़ितों में 84 प्रतिशत और जबरदस्ती श्रम के सभी पीड़ितों में 58 प्रतिशत महिलाएं हैं. ग्लोबल न्यूज के मुताबिक
फ्रोरेस ने कहा कि आधुनिक गुलामी की परिभाषा पूरी तरह से बदल गई है. उन्होंने कहा, हम अपनी अर्थव्यवस्था में सामान्य आपूर्ति शृंखलाओं
और पलायन में सामान्यीकृत शोषण देख रहे हैं. कोरोना महामारी दुनिया के सबसे कमजोर
वर्गों को आधुनिक गुलामी की इस प्रथा में और अधिक धकेल दिया गया है.
उन्होंने कहा कि आधुनिक दासता में
फंसी महिलाओं और लड़कियों की अनुमानित संख्या कम ही होगी, क्योंकि इसमें यह हिसाब शामिल नहीं है कि महामारी के
दौरान क्या हुआ. दरअसल महामारी के दौरान दुनिया भर में जबरन और बाल विवाहों में और
काम की शोषणकारी परिस्थितियों में बेहद बढ़ोतरी देखी गई.
फ्रोरेस ने कहा, हम जानते हैं कि कपड़े, कॉफी, प्रौद्योगिकी जैसी वस्तुओं, जो हम हर दिन खरीदते और उपयोग करते हैं, की सप्लाई शृंखलाओं में महिलाओं और लड़कियों को
अभूतपूर्व स्तर पर शोषण का सामना करना पड़ रहा है. उन्होंने कहा कि वॉक फ्री और
संयुक्त राष्ट्र का ‘एवरी वीमेन एवरी चाइल्ड’ कार्यक्रम आधुनिक दासता को समाप्त
करने के लिए एक वैश्विक अभियान शुरू कर रहा है. उन्होंने कहा यह अभियान
बहुराष्ट्रीय कंपनियों से पारदर्शिता और जवाबदेही की भी मांग करता है.
Twenty-nine million girls and women around the
world fall prey to modern slavery: report

A new report has revealed that at least 29 million
women in the world are victims of modern slavery. It exists in the form of
forced labor, forced marriages, bonded labor and domestic slavery etc. Grace
Frores, co-founder of 'Walk Free', an organization that works against slavery,
said on Friday that it means one in 130 women and girls are victims of modern
slavery and the number exceeds Australia's total population.
He said in a UN press conference, the reality is
that the number of people who are living in slavery today have never been in
human history. He said that walk-free modern slavery is interpreted as phasing
out the freedom of one person, where one person exploits another for personal
or financial gain. He said that the work (survey) by Walk Free and United
Nations agencies — the International Labor Organization and the International
Organization for Migration — has concluded that one in 130 women and girls are
victims of modern slavery.
The report of Stagged Odds states that 99 percent
of all victims of sexual assault are women, 84 percent of all victims of forced
marriage and 58 percent of all victims of forced labor. According to Global
News, Frores said that the definition of modern slavery has completely changed.
He said, we are seeing generalized exploitation in the general supply chains
and migration in our economy. The corona epidemic has pushed the most
vulnerable sections of the world further into this practice of modern slavery.
He said that the estimated number of women and
girls trapped in modern slavery will be small, because it does not include what
happened during the epidemic. In fact, during the epidemic, there was a
tremendous increase in forced and child marriages and exploitative working
conditions around the world.
"We know that women and girls are facing unprecedented levels of exploitation in the supply chains of things like clothes, coffee, technology, which we buy and use every day," Frores said. He said that Walk Free and the United Nations 'Every Women Every Child' program is launching a global campaign to end modern slavery. He said that this campaign also demands transparency and accountability from multinationals.
