पूना बामसेफ भवन में सामाजिक चेतना के धनी, मूलनिवासी बहुजन आंदोलन के साथी सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के पूर्व न्यायाधीश पी बी सावंत को दी गई श्रद्धांजलि
पी बी सावंत न्यायपालिका के बहुत महत्वपूर्ण अंग थे, लेकिन उनका न्यायपालिका पर विश्वास नहीं था : वामन मेश्राम साहब
15 फरवरी 2021 को सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के पूर्व न्यायाधीश पी बी सावंत की सुबह हार्टअटैक होने से उनका निधन हो गया. 16 फरवरी 2021 को बामसेफ भवन पूना में सामाजिक चेतना के धनी और मूलनिवासी बहुजन समाज के संघर्षों के साथी सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के पूर्व न्यायाधीश पी बी सावंत को श्रद्धांजलि दी गई. इस मौके पर प्रो. विलास खरात, नंदाताई लोखंडे, एड.वासंती नलावडे, बामसेफ भवन के सभी पूर्णकालिन कार्यकर्ता सहित स्थानीय कार्यकर्ता उपस्थित रहे. इस शोक सभा की अध्यक्षता बामसेफ के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष वामन मेश्राम साहब ने की.
बामसेफ के
राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष वामन मेश्राम साहब ने कहा, जस्टिस पी बी सावंत साहब का निधन, खासकर हमारे आंदोलन के बहुत बड़ी क्षति
है. क्योंकि, जब भी कोई
संकट आती थी या कानून से संबंधित किसी मुद्दे पर बात होती थी तो हम उनसे सलाह
मशवरा करके उसका समाधान निकालते थे. वे जितनी बार भी हमें सलाह मशवरा दिया उतनी
बार हमें फायदा हुआ. इस दृष्टि के उनका निधन हमारे लिए क्षति की बात है. इतनी बड़ी
शख्यिस होने के बावजूद भी जब हम लोग टेलीफ़ोन से समय मांगते तो वे फौरन समय देते
थे. आमतौर पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट के रिटायर होने वाले जज के अंदर रिटायर होने के बाद भी
सुप्रीम कोर्ट के जज रहने की अकड़ रहती है. लेकिन, हमने सावंत साहब में कभी भी ऐसा नहीं
देखा. वे हम लोगों को कभी समय देने के लिए इनकार नहीं करते थे.
वामन
मेश्राम साहब ने
कहा, हैरान
करने की बात है कि वे न्यायपालिका के बहुत महत्वपूर्ण अंग थे, लेकिन उनका न्यायपालिका पर विश्वास
नहीं था. उन्होंने मुझे कई बार डिस्करेज किया कि न्यायपालिका में आपको न्याय नहीं
मिलेगा. अगर उनके स्थान पर दूसरा कोई जज होता तो इस तरह की बात नहीं करता. उन्हीं
की वजह से मुझे ये सोचने के लिए मजबूर होना पड़ा कि हम न्यायपालिका में जायेंगे, मगर न्यायपालिका पर यकीन करके नहीं
जाएंगे. हमने इसलिए दूसरा तरीका अपनाया कि जो मुद्दा लेकर न्यायपालिका में जाएंगे
उस मुद्दे को आंदोलन का मुद्दा बनाएँगे और उस मुद्दे पर लोगों को जागृत करके
उन्हें आंदोलन के लिए तैयार करेंगे. यह तरीका सावंत साहब के अनुभव के आधार पर ही
हमने अपनाई है. इस तरीके पर हम आज की कायम हैं.
आगे कहा
कि हम ईवीएम के मुद्दे को लेकर कोर्ट में गया और इसी मुद्दे को आंदोलन का बड़ा
मुद्दा बनाया. आज ऐसी परिस्थिति है कि सुप्रीम कोर्ट के रिटायर जस्टिस लोकूर ने
दिल्ली में ईवीएम के विरोध में स्टैंड लिया है. हमें इस बात की खुशी है कि जो हमने
ईवीएम के खिलाफ यह अभियान चलाया था अब हम इस अभियान में अकेले नहीं हैं. हमें आज एक और खबर मिली है
कि टाटा इंस्टीट्यूट ने ईवीएम के विरोध में पांच हजार पेज का डाक्यूमेंट तैयार
किया है. इस डाटा को हम जल्दी ही लाने वाले हैं. फिर उसे सार्वजनिक करने के बारे
में सोचेंगे.
अभी बंगाल
में जो चुनाव होने वाला है वह ईवीएम से ही होगा. वहां से हमें जानकारी मिली है कि
ममता बनर्जी ने चुनाव आयोग को एक गुप्त लेटर लिखा है. इसकी जानकारी अखबार वालों ने
नहीं दी है, लेकिन
उसकी जानकारी उनके ही अंदरूनी लोगों से हमें मिली है. उस गुप्त लेटर को भी हासिल
करने के लिए हम लोग कोशिश कर रहे हैं. उन्होंने आगे कहा कि सावंत साहब डाक्यूमेंट
को लेकर ज्यादा विजिलेंट थे.
अंत में
वामन मेश्राम साहब ने कहा, अभी हम
लोगों के सामने एक बड़ी समस्या है कि हम लोगों को क्रिटिकल सलाह लेने के लिए इस तरह
का लीगल एक्सपर्ट व्यक्ति, इतने ऊँचे
लेवल का व्यक्ति हमारे पास नहीं है. इसलिए हमारे सामने कई संकट आएँगे और उसका कोई
न कोई रास्ता निकालना पड़ेगा. राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर कोई इस तरह का सलाह देने वाले
व्यक्ति को ढूंढेंगे और लड़ाई जारी रखेंगे. क्योंकि, ये आंदोलन के साथी थे. वे चाहते थे कि
देश में जो हो रहा है उसके विरोध में बामसेफ के द्वारा बड़ा स्टैंड लिया जाए. उनकी
ये इच्छाएं थी, हम उनके

PB Sawant was a
very important part of the judiciary, but he did not trust the judiciary: Waman
Meshram Saheb
On February
15, 2021, former Supreme Court Judge PB Sawant died on the morning of a heart
attack. Tributes were paid to former Supreme Court judge PB Sawant on 16
February 2021 at Bamcef Bhawan Poona, a philanthropist of social consciousness
and fellow of the Bahujan Samaj. On this occasion, Prof. Local activists
including Vilas Kharat, Nandatai Lokhande, Ed.Vasanti Nalavade, all full-time
workers of Bamcef Bhavan were present. This condolence meeting was chaired by
Bamcef national president Waman Meshram Saheb.
Bamcef national
president Waman Meshram Saheb said, the death of Justice PB Sawant Saheb, is a
big loss especially for our movement. Because, whenever there was a crisis or
any issue related to the law, we used to consult them and find a solution. We
benefited as many times as he consulted us. His death with this vision is a
matter of loss for us. Despite being such a large number of people, when we
used to ask for time by telephone, they used to give time immediately. Usually,
even after a retiring judge of the Supreme Court, there is a barrage of Supreme
Court judges even after retiring. But, we have never seen this in Sawant Saheb.
He never denied to give time to us.
Waman Meshram Saheb
said, it is surprising that he was a very important part of the judiciary, but
he did not trust the judiciary. He discovered me many times that you will not
get justice in the judiciary. If there was another judge in his place, he would
not have done such a thing. Because of them, I was forced to think that we will
go to the judiciary, but will not believe the judiciary. We therefore adopted
the second way that the issue which will go to the judiciary will make that
issue an issue of agitation and will awaken the people on that issue and
prepare them for the movement. We have adopted this method based on the
experience of Sawant Saheb. Today we stand on this method.
He further said
that we went to court on the issue of EVM and made this issue a big issue of
agitation. Today, there is a situation that the retired Justice Lokur of the
Supreme Court has taken a stand in Delhi against EVMs. We are happy that now we
are not alone in this campaign which we had launched against EVMs. We have
received another news today that Tata Institute has prepared a five thousand
page document in protest against EVM. We are going to bring this data soon.
Then think about making it public.
The election that
is going to be held in Bengal will be done from EVMs only. From there we got
information that Mamta Banerjee has written a secret letter to the Election
Commission. Newspapers have not given information about this, but we have
received information from their own insiders. We are trying to get that secret
letter also. He further said that Sawant Saheb was more vigilant about the
document.
In the end, Waman
Meshram Saheb said, We have a big problem in front of us that we do not have
such a legal expert, such a high-level person, to take critical advice to us.
Therefore, we will face many problems and we have to find some way out of it.
At the national level, someone will find a person who gives such advice and
will continue the fight. Because, he was a partner of the movement. They wanted
that Bamsef should take a big stand to protest what is happening in the
